Boost Confidence & Celebrate Progress
IDA’s unique ballet and tap curriculum culminates with the IDA Awards, a non-competitive performance event with adjudicated feedback.
Why do the IDA Awards? Because being assessed by an independent and experienced judge is an integral part of dance education. It provides a goal for the students to work towards and an international standard to prove themselves against. IDA’s exercises and dances improve dancers’ skills and focus their drive, motivating them to strive for excellence. This in turn encourages a greater work ethic and increased self-confidence. At the conclusion of the Awards event, each dancer is rewarded with a gold medal and certificate – Achievement through Performance.
IDA Awards highlights:
- Pre-Professional or Recreational options: Choose graded evaluations or encouraging feedback — making IDA ideal for everyone from pre-professionals to beginners and dancers with special needs.
- Customizable: Perform in a studio or theater, with optional teacher feedback integration.
- Internationally Recognized Standards: Experienced IDA adjudicators provide valuable feedback based on artistic merit and technical skills.
- Motivational & Educational: Specially choreographed exercises and dances enhance musicality, artistry, and focus.
- Positive Reinforcement: Every dancer receives a gold medal and certificate, celebrating their achievements.
- Renowned Choreographers: Ballet by Merle Sepel, Rebecca Tsivkin, Brian Loftus, Robynne Edwards, and Heather White Hagar. Tap by Dianne Schiller.
Educators Welcome
This program is perfect for experienced and new teachers alike. Many IDA members have grown their IDA Awards to become a major event in their year, and also treat it as an opportunity to generate additional revenue. There are many ways to customize the Awards to fit your unique needs as a teacher and/or studio owner. We offer support through the entire process via online member resources and direct contact with IDA adjudicators, as well as ongoing Technique Talks webinars throughout the year.

Click on each step to learn more…
1. Teach the Curriculum
Incorporate the IDA Curriculum for Tap, Ballet (or both!) in your existing programs or create special workshops or summer programs.
2. Schedule Your IDA Awards
Contact us to easily schedule your IDA Awards Presentation. An IDA adjudicator will travel to your studio.
3. Host Your IDA Awards
Your IDA Awards can be a public performance event or a private, closed-door “exam.” How simple or elaborate they are is entirely up to you! Judges are also available to lead teacher meetings and masterclasses to round out your program offerings.
IDA is much more than a certificate…
Your Student Dancers will work hard, but the feeling they get when they excel — when they progress beyond what even they imagined — is about so much more than the certificates they’ll receive. They will have built real, technical dance skills and the confidence to execute those skills on any stage. They will, in short, be Acclaim Worthy.
- When you enroll, you’ll unlock our robust library of demo videos and streaming music, from Pre-Junior to Teen/Adult Tiers, plus the Tap Glossary.
- In addition to streaming access to choreography and music, we provide count-by-count choreography breakdowns and notes.
- Use our Curriculum as the foundation for your regular class schedule or…
- Host a special class or workshop. IDA programs are perfect for self-contained, seasonal “Special Event” workshops (like Summer Programs).
- AWARD YOUR DANCERS! After all of their hard work, your Dancers will be thrilled when our Adjudicator travels to your studio to evaluate and award their achievement.
